CEO/Managing Director, First Exploration & Petroleum Development Company Limited

Ademola Adeyemi-Bero is a seasoned and respected oil and gas executive with experience spanning the international and national business environment and can be regarded as one of the leading oil and gas professionals in Nigeria. He is the founder and CEO/Managing Director of FIRST Exploration & Petroleum Development Company Limited (FIRST E&P), a Nigerian Independent focused on the Nigeria oil and gas industry and the Operator of the NNPC-FIRST E&P OML 83 and OML 85 Joint Venture.
Over the years, Ademola has acquired deep knowledge and excellent understanding of various aspects of the energy business in a variety of roles. ‘Demola spent 20 years with Shell, where he occupied several significant roles in several countries including Business Director/Board Executive of Shell Petroleum Development Company Nigeria Limited (SPDC) and Vice President – New Business Development in Africa within Shell International E&P.
Prior to embarking on the entrepreneurial journey, ‘Demola served as President/Managing Director of British Gas Exploration and Production Company Nigeria with responsibility for the Integrated Gas, Exploration & Production businesses of the British Gas Group in Nigeria. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Producers Group (IPPG), a group of Nigerian Indigenous Upstream E&P companies who are increasingly relevant players in the Nigerian Petroleum sector. Additionally, ‘Demola sits on the Board and Governing council of several independent organizations where he brings his wealth of experience and business perspective.

In his role as the CEO/Managing Director of FIRST E&P, he leads the company’s drive towards the attainment of a sustainably successful integrated oil and gas business including its Environmental, Social and Governance initiatives and programs.
